John F. Kennedy Memorial Award

John F Kennedy

Our class created the John F. Kennedy Memorial Award to encourage well-qualified students to enter careers in government or other fields of public service. The award is presented each year to a graduating senior planning a life dedicated to public service.

The award is an effort to further President Kennedy’s intense interest in realizing the leadership potential of America’s youth as evidenced by the creation of such programs as the Peace Corps and the White House Summer Seminar.

Our class founded this award during our senior year at Cornell. Over the years we have awarded it to an outstanding group of Cornellians, many of whom have continued to contribute to public service in the spirit of John F. Kennedy.
